Project DOAD
In the limited time I had tonight, I gave this game a quick half-hour play. Will definitely give it more time when my senior project stops stalking me like an albatross, but I'll share a few comments:
1. The save menu doesn't have a cursor, so I had no idea which save I was reading from/writing to. May want to fix that. :P
2. Collision detection was very strange at times. I had swarms of fairies on me in several occasions, and many of them were shooting their big light bursts, yet I didn't suffer any damage through the majority of those. I could just slash my way to victory without worrying about being gangbanged...too hard.
3. Speaking of swarms of fairies...the "walking" speed was too slow for my tastes. I found myself holding the dash button much of the time while looking for a good spot to slash/blast away. A slight touch-up to the walking speed would definitely be nice.
4. The key layout for dashing and guarding could be improved upon. I found the offensive keystrokes to be sufficient enough; just that switching between holding 'a' and pressing 'z' seemed strange for my left hand.
That's all for now; otherwise, keep it up. I haven't played many Touhou games, so I speak from an outsider's perspective. :P
WIP: The movement appears to be pixel based.
Max: I respect your right to an opinion, but your post, to use a computing analogy, sounded like a PC user posting in a Mac forum saying all Apples are teh sux. If you don't like the genre, that's fine...but if you were going to just criticize an art style you obviously had a prejudice against, why even bother posting?

How much time do you spend on the computer?
University (classes): Digital media major, thus most of the time.
University (job): Laptop IT, thus most of the time.
Home (general): Homework/Personal Projects/Random Internet Stuff/Games = 65-75% roughly, probably more.
Yeah, I spend a lot of time on the computer. :P

Font Issue
I'm going to take three guesses...
1. Your font files may be corrupted, and when you dragged them back Windows may have not replaced them properly. Try deleting them and re-copying the fonts directly. Check RM2000, RMG2000, MS Gothic, and MS Mincho; the four main 2K/2K3 fonts, and try checking a random other font in the folder.
2. Your file system may be corrupted. Open a command prompt and type "chkdsk c: /f" and say yes to running it on next boot. Restart your computer and see what happens.
3. Unlikely, but your disk itself may be corrupted. Open a command prompt and do the same thing as above, but replace /f with /r. This could take awhile, so whip up a console game or something in the meantime.
See if any of them work, this looks a lot like an O/S problem than anything else. If they don't work...not sure of what else to say at the moment.

There is a possibility of scripting staying in, given they managed to "forget" MP3 in the list of playable audio formats.
But seeing how VX went, I wouldn't put it past them to gut it out.

If, however, it is because I have a tendency to edit my posts whilst other people are replying then I will understand. I will not apologise for that, though, nor will I stop adding to my points after posting them because that's just how my mind functions. It always thinks of a better way to word something afterwards, and it won't matter how long I stare at the post for before hitting the post button - it is almost as if hitting the post button is a trigger for my mind thinking something fresh.
So...instead of fixing your personality flaw, which people hate, you continue to perpetuate it and flip the bird on us? Honestly, you will not make many friends this way. Everyone has/had personality flaws that they need to correct or have already corrected, and we all know this. It's a matter of you getting up off your butt and working on them that makes you stand out from the losers.
The Preview button, I say again, is a great tool. Use it.
edit: If you're wondering what flaw I'm talking about, Karsuman stated it in the most clear way possible.
Seriously...
The "Preview" function is a good thing. I even used it in this post.
And given your antics in the AGM features topic, I'm not surprised at this happening.

I never said eventing was a good coding language and all you've done is point out that eventing isn't a brilliant one, which I am perfectly willing to admit it isn't. It does, after all, have a lot of limitations. However, aside from having to type in the lines yourself, it does mimic a coding language very well. Albeit a very limited coding language.
I am sure there are examples of coding languages that are limited compared to other coding languages, does that make the limited ones less of a coding language..?
Don't try to backpedal on this one. You've been caught by pretty much the entire forum on trying to defend 2K/2K3 = XP/VX. Your constant editing of your posts is irritating as well, and none of us buy into that.

Because some people find eventing easier than learning how to use a coding language (not ignoring the fact that eventing is basically a coding language itself, you just click on the command line you want next instead of typing it in.)
Eventing is not a coding language. Eventing is completely static in its options, whereas an actual script allows you to put more in one line that would take several times more lines in an event page.
For example, "if/else if/else". 2K/2K3 does not have a concept of "else if" in such a statement; the conditional branch event is only "if/else". If you wanted to do this, you'd have to create many, many conditional branches to satisfy what an "if/else if/else if/else" statement would naturally do. This is code which would give you a D or F in any beginner's programming course.
Also, the lack of proper loops. 2K/2K3 only has a "while" loop function that does not let you choose a variable to test. The only way to break out of this while loop is to do it with a separate line of code! That's completely inefficient compared to the power of an actual language.
There are many more examples that could be brought to light here, but these are just two very obvious ones. You cannot compare scripting with eventing, as they don't even exist on the same level!
edit: To add to the lack of loops, don't forget "do while" and "for". Two extremely useful loops in real languages.
Using MP3s
MP3 support was added in RPG Maker 2003. The only way to play MP3s in 2000 would be to switch harmony.dll with a modified one, if 2000 even had the ability to use the new dll.
Pirate Bay Copyright Case
The fallacies with pursuing BitTorrent are that, as people in this thread have stated, it has its legitimate uses, and it is just what it is: a protocol.
It does not matter that compared to pirated media, the percentage of its legitimate usage is comparatively low; it is easier to torrent a Linux ISO than it is to download through an FTP site for instance, given you're getting the file from multiple people instead of a singular distributor. Also, if the BitTorrent protocol were somehow banned from existence completely, another protocol would merely take its place. Let us not forget the DirectConnect hub system and the eDonkey network. Going after a protocol is not the right solution, as it would just lead to an endless chase.
